In most of the cases, they did it deliberately on the advice of some ignorant Vastu consultants. In some other homes, where people were suffering from increased heartbeat, fear and anxiety, I found presence of a pit or water boring or earthling or a door in the SOUTH-WEST zone as major reasons causing the heart problems. In more than 100 homes, I found Kitchen located in SOUTH-WEST zone and the residents were suffering with Swelling in heart. So, this is how architecture of your home and placement of activities in your home affect your heart.

How does Vastu Shastra affect our health?

Answer: The space where you live, i.e., your home deeply affects and governs your health. Location of Entrance, Rooms (especially bedroom), Balance of Five Elements like Kitchen, Water, Balcony, Shaft, Plants, Open spaces, Storage, Colours, Shapes etc. and objects together create an effect in your building which affects not only health but all the aspects in your life. For example, if you have a Toilet or red or pink colours in the zone of Health and Immunity, which is NORTH-NORTH-EAST (NNE), then you will experience low immunity and you will fall ill quite regularly. Because, toilet is an activity of disposal; it flushes out waste from your body. So, when placed in NORTH-NORTH-EAST NNE, it will flush out health and immunity from your life. Similarly, if you have an Entrance or bedroom in the zone of Depression, you will feel depressed and dejected. It will affect your mental health. If you continue sleeping there for long, you might develop Thyroid. This is particularly true in case of females. We have observed it in hundreds of case studies. Again, if you have a bedroom in SOUTH-SOUTH-WEST (SSW) zone of your home, you will start losing your body vitality and in the long run, it could prove fatal.

• Apart from this, if the balance of five elements is disturbed in your home, you will face health problems. For example, if you have a Granite slab in your Kitchen for more than 15 years, then the female cooking food in this kitchen is very much likely to develop a tumor in her lower abdominal area. • Living room is the heart of a house. It’s the place where you spend time with your family and entertain your guests. Best direction for living room should be NORTH-EAST or EAST but it depends on the direction house faces. For north or east facing house living room should be in NORTH-EAST. For a SOUTH facing house it can be in SOUTH-EAST. For WEST facing house living room can be in NORTH-WEST direction. Color of the walls in living room should be light. White, cream, yellow, orange, green, blue all in lighter shade can be a good option. Light colors brighten up the space and make it appear larger as well. Placement of furniture in living room should be in SOUTH-WEST and west direction. Owner of the house should always sit in SOUTH-WEST or WEST direction facing either NORTH-EAST or EAST. Reason is that sun rays and fresh air from east and north direction ensures positivity. Furniture should be rectangular or square and there is always some space left between wall and furniture to ensure the free flow of air. Placement of furniture should be done in a way that it should appear uncluttered and allows free movement of the dwellers. Avoid seating area under a beam as it can increase your stress. Better idea is to conceal the beam with false ceiling. All the electronic and electrical gadgets should draw power from socket placed in east or SOUTH-EAST direction. T.V should be placed in a direction in such a way that viewer should face EAST or NORTH direction.
• • AC, cooler should be placed in WEST direction as west of the house becomes hot during the day. Fireplace all things related to fire or heat should be placed in SOUTH-EAST direction as this direction represents Agni or Fire element.
• • As they say ‘We become what we behold’. Paintings we put up in living room evoke strong sentiments. Thus keep in mind that paintings should always be calming, positive and uplifting. Picture of Sun or nature should be hung on EAST wall, painting of waterfall on the NORTH wall and painting that denotes strength like horses, mountain or elephants should be hung on SOUTH or WEST wall. Entrance

• In which of the 32 zones does your main entrance lie? Be careful and ensure a good entrance. If it is an inauspicious one, troubles will hound you. For instance, the south-west door will bring in debts, loans and financial problems. A north Vastu entrance brings good career opportunities and money. The north-east Vastu entrance brings peace. The west entrance brings in wealth and prosperity. The south entrance is also a beneficial one.
• The main gate of the building could be kept anywhere in EAST of the NORTHEAST corner, SOUTH of the SOUTHEAST corner, WEST of the NORTHWEST corner & NORTH of the NORTHEAST corner. The main door should never be in the EAST of the SOUTHEAST corner, SOUTH of the SOUTHWEST corner, WEST of the SOUTHWEST corner or NORTH of the NORTHWEST corner. • • You can ensure financial strength and balance by checking the west (capital and gains), northwest (support), north (money and opportunities), south-east (initiating spark). Money, opportunities, gains and capital will flow smoothly and a steady spark will be present if these zones are in order. For instance, the main colour scheme in the SE ought to be red, and the kitchen should be here. • • FENGSUI = Cure the cut-corners: As per Vaastu science, if the north-eastern corner of a building, room, office or living area is cut, it constitutes to be one of the major Vaastu defect. In order to cure this serious Vaastu flaw, one can fix-up, paste or hook-up a mirror in north-eastern walls. This shall work as an article to expand that cut or reduced corner and subsequently the presence and movement of ‘Yang’ (positive) energy shall drastically improve in the cut corner.
• • Protection from south-west direction: If one has a south-west facing premises, use the reflective glasses in the window panes located in south-west directions. They should give the mirror effect from out side, not from inside. The glare from the exterior shall ward-off the negative energy entering the house from the negative direction of south-west.
• • For anti clockwise staircase: The staircase should always be turning clockwise while going up, but if the staircase is wrongly built i.e. anti-clockwise, we can use a 2 X 4 square feet sized vertical mirror on the front wall inside the staircase. This shall revert back the negative rotation to right turn, thus the defect shall diminish without making the physical changes.
• • Removal of the impact of negative toilets: The toilet should not be placed in north or eastern directions. This brings ill fortune to the inmates. Even, if the toilet is located in the Ishaan corner (north-east) this may ruin the entire family and renders to it hand to mouth according to Vaastu Shastra. Therefore, in order to set-off the negativity of such a toilet, fix up a full length mirror on the toilet’s door, outside the toilet. This shall bring in something positive from the front side of the toilet, thus the negativities of the toilet shall substantially come down.
• • Remedy of wrongly placed ‘columns’: Sometimes the builder or civil contractor erects the columns on the ‘Marma-sthan’ i.e. the most sensitive area of the premises. In most of the cases the column or pillar is found in the extreme middle area of the house or commercial hall. This central area is called the Bramha-sthan of the premises and even a little load in this most sensitive part of the Vaastu-purush is enough to destruct the family physically and financially. In such a case, wrapping of the mirror around such column eases the position.
• • Treat the ‘Shar-chi’ (negativity) of main entrance: If there exists an electric pole, a ‘T’ junction, a transformer, temple, Dharam Shala, jail, graveyard or ugly looking structure just in front of your main entrance, then hang a ‘Pakua’ mirror (a round shaped convex mirror used in ‘Fengshui, the Chinese art of Vaastu’) on the front wall of your building in such a way that it faces the negative area defined here above.
• • = Turning the negative facing of the building: If the main door or main entrance lies in the ‘Yam’ or ‘Pitra’ area located in the middle of south or in south west and the entrance starts from the south direction itself, one can use a mirror in front of entrance i.e. on a wall erected in front of entry. This shall sufficiently nullify the negative impact of the wrongly placed entry.
• • War scenes: War scenes from Ramayana and Mahabharata should not be kept at home. Such pictures and paintings depict rivalry among family members.
• • Cactus or thorny plants: You should never plant or keep cactus in your home. Other thorny plants except roses should also be removed.
• • Negativity in Images: Pictures and paintings of trees without fruit or flowers, sinking boats, nudes, fight scenes using swords, hunting scenes, indrajal (magic), captured elephants and images like sad, weeping or crying people should not be hung inside your home.
• • Taj Mahal: Any showpiece or image of Taj-Mahal should not be kept at home. It is a grave and symbolize death and passivity.

16 Zones. Their colors. Their Metals

Five elements (Pancha Tatva) : (Water, Air, Fire, Earth and Space). How these elements are related to each other: Water Element create Air/Plant so its Parent element for Air. Air (Wood) Element Create Fire so its Parent element for Fire. Fire Element Create Earth so its Parent element for Earth. Earth Element create Metal/Space so its Parent element for Space. Space Element Create water so its Parent Element for Water. So that is said Space (Gray/White Color) is Parent Element for Water (Black/Blue Color) and Child Element for Earth (Yellow Color) Water (Blue/Black color) is Parent Element for Air (Green/Brown Color) and Child Element for Space (Gray/White Color)  Parent element enhances the zone and Child element exhausts the zone. North being Water Element, if you put white or gray color in North, it will Enhance. If you put Green or Brown Color in North, it will exhaust the zone. When to enhance and when to exhaust to balance the zone depends upon area square footage of that zone when compared to total square footage of entire living space on that floor. With this theory North zone's self color are Blue/Black and Acceptable Colors are Gray/White or Green/Brown. Depending on zonal strength it will have its own effect but to keep things simple these are the acceptable colors if used in moderate amount. Now lets talk about Anti colors/element. For water element other than Parent and Child two elements left which are Fire and Earth. How Presence of Anti Colors affect North zone of Water Element: Water will put fire off and fire would insult Water so its Anti Color to Water Element. Water will unstable Earth and Earth will block Water so its Anti color to Water Element.  With this Red or any color in the red family like Orange or Purple etc are anti color in North (Water) zone and similarly Yellow is also an Anti Color in North Zone. So if we talk with respect to zonal Significance of North then its a zone of Money and Opportunities (Growth). If we have Yellow in the form of color, metal or activity in the North then it will block the Money creating Opportunities. And similarly if we have Fire in the form of color, metal or fire itself in the North Zone if will hamper the Career and Growth and also disturb the attributes related to fire element in its own zone. With above logic following are the Acceptable and Anti colors for individual Zones. ​Presence of anti color in major amount and sometimes even in small amount can create the imbalance in particular zone. So instead of trying to fix the colors in each and every zone only concentrate on your issues which might be related to individual zone and then correct the imbalances in that zone accordingly.

• Inside the bedroom the bed should be aligned in such a manner as to ensure the head position in south or in east direction, while sleeping. This will again help in maintaining better understanding and compatibility in your relationship.
