Today, National Security Advisory Board issued a statement on behalf of India. Shyam Saran, convener of the National Security Advisory Board, said,
"India will not be the first to use nuclear weapons, but if it is attacked with such weapons, it would engage in nuclear retaliation which will be massive and designed to inflict unacceptable damage on its adversary. The label on a nuclear weapon used for attacking India, strategic or tactical, is irrelevant from the Indian perspective."referred here.
I don't know, which way I should take this statement. What is this stand actually? If case, Pakistan decides to attack nukes, no matter how powerful. Then and there India will retaliate. But what about the damage it will cause not only today but for coming generations. Not only the region, and unfortunately we can't even imagine the affected perimeter. We saw what Little Boy & Fat Man did to Hiroshima & Nagasaki respectively. Those two were nothing when compared to nukes possess today. Will it be really worth-while attacking them back and causing same pain. I wonder what other so-called powerful countries could have done. I am damn sure, if even someone plans even one-millionth smaller to this against Uncle Sam. They will attack instantly and perhaps root out the attacker's such capablities. But then, it is India. land of Buddha and Gandhi. How can we do that? If someone slaps you, offer him other side of your face. And keep offering until he is not satisfied. Poor India.
